Hi, I’m DJBex — a lifelong music lover, dance floor igniter, and your go-to party
starter.
Music has been the rhythm of my life for as long as I can remember. I was that kid
with a radio in hand and a Walkman on my hip (yes, I’m proudly that old). I used to
record songs off the radio onto cassette tapes and choreograph breakdance moves
in the garage. By my teen years, I was a regular at Bow Wow Records on Central,
collecting CDs like treasure and DJing every party I could.
My first official gig? It was New Year’s Eve 2011, opening for one of my favorite
artists, Bitch (if you don’t know her, you’re seriously missing out). I downloaded
Virtual DJ, jumped behind the booth, and instantly fell in love. From there, I kept
showing up — first to empty dance floors at 8 p.m., and eventually to packed-out
parties with crowds screaming for more.
Now, with over 50 weddings under my belt, I’ve become a seasoned wedding DJ
who knows how to read the room, smooth out the timeline, and keep the dance floor
full from the first song to the last slow jam. I’m not just pressing play — I’m helping
create memories that last a lifetime.
Over the years, I’ve built my craft on energy, connection, and a deep love for music
that spans genres. I live for those moments when someone hears their song and
rushes the dance floor. When the crowd gets sweaty and the room vibrates with joy
— that’s my magic.
While I have a soft spot for house music (especially Naked Music’s sultry, sexy
sounds from artists like Blue Six and Lisa Shaw), I DJ everything from all-request
nights to drag shows, brunches, and Pride parades. I’m also the resident DJ for
Albuquerque’s Hot Flash Parties, where we celebrate community, queerness, and
damn good dance floors — all while giving back to local nonprofits.
 Let’s dance.
